Summer lights.

I love this room, because I'm also living in the awkward attic-shaped space now. I like how they utilized this space to play up its charm!

Lifestyles are so interesting. You learn so much about people through what they wear, where they sleep, what they read. A lifestyle really becomes a direct reflection on how a person sees the world ...

Summer Tunes

Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks from Foster The People on Vimeo.

I posted the track to this tune a bit ago, but I dig the video, too. I'm a sucker for the mainstream indie stuff, I know.

Quotation of the Week

"'How do you juggle it all?' People constantly ask me, with an accusatory look in their eyes. 'You're screwing it all up, aren't you?' Their eyes say. My standard answer is that I have the same struggle as any working parent, but with the good fortune to be working at my dream job. Or sometimes I just hand them a juicy red apple I've poisoned in my working-mother witch cauldron and fly away."

Bon Weekend!

Ellie Goulding - Lights by igapromotion

I'll be rocking to this tune on walks at twilight and windy beach days :)

We the people.

US Royalty performs their song "Equestrian". Shot on location at the AE photo shoot in Nashville, TN. I like it. Feels gritty and free-spirited. Feels like summer :)

I got da blues.

I would say my style is more on the sporty side than the feminine, so I love love taking inspiration from men's fashion. I be rollin in my chambray, nautical stripes and light wash denim alllll summer long.

Quotation of the Week

"I like things that are worn. I don't like newness... I still wear old things. And I wear new things. And the old things that I love are non-fashion. There's a timeless quality and an unfashionable sensibility... They're utility, the things you wear to work in, they're things that have sort of an honesty."

Quotation of the Week

"This world demands the qualities of youth: Not a time of life, but a state of mind, a temper of the will, a quality of imagination, a predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite of adventure over the life of ease."

Above is some design inspiration as I begin packing and moving (once again) into my new home. I've always been attracted to calm, meditative palates: White, gray browns and blues, taupe, with occasional red.

Bromancing till the world ends.

The White Panda! I've been following them for a while — So, so good. The duo really makes you appreciate mash-ups at a time when the trend is for sure on the decline. Or are they?! These are truly superb.

Foolish Monsters by whitepandamusic

Perfect workout/running music. I lurv.

"The White Panda formed when two boyhood friends discovered they had independently embarked on mashup careers in college. Chicago-based Procrast (Tom Evans) first blended Rick Astley snippets with 2 Live Crew grooves as a way to avoid productive activity in 2008, while DJ Griffi (Dan Griffith) embarked on the same mission, for a similar purpose, in L.A. Their combined effort, the White Panda, launched in 2009 with a single that topped internet radio charts days later."

Great summer rocking out playlist — It's an hour of perfectly mixed dancin tunes:

What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Favorite lines —

"So my hope for all of you here is that you're going to walk across the stage and get your diploma, you're going to go out tonight or maybe all summer and celebrate (you deserve it), and then you're going to lean way into your career. You're going to find something you love doing, and you're going to do it with gusto. You're going to pick your field and ride it all the way to the top."

"The most important career decision that you will make is whether or not you have a life partner and who that partner is. If you pick someone who is going to share the burdens and the joys of your personal life, you're going to go farther."

"A world where men ran half our homes, and women ran half our institutions would just be a much better world."

"Do not lean back, lean in."

"Put your foot on the gas pedal and keep it there, until the day that you have to make a decision."

"Try until you find something that stirs your passion, until you find a job that stirs you and stirs others. It is the ultimate luxury to combine passion and contribution. It's also a very clear path to happiness."

"I hope that each one of you have the ambition to run the world, because this world needs you to run it."

"Go home and ask yourself: What would you do if you weren't afraid? And then go do it."

HOLD STEADY.

Images via My Vibe My Life

Some images for motivation... and balance + organization + energy...

After a super duperly awesome (don't know why my vocabulary has reverted to that of a 13-year old) weekend, it's hard to come home and face the monstrous to-do list that I've been running away from for the past ... uh ... for quite a while.

I've got about a week until my big move to Pittsburgh — enough time to recenter, refocus and in general, feng shui my life back together. Kind of excited, believe it or not. It's going to be a great week. Here are some great rock sculptures for inspiration ... xx oo

Quotation of the Week

"Intuition is really a sudden immersion of the soul into the universal current of life, where the histories of all people are connected, and we are able to know everything because it's all written there."
